COVID-19: Can we really learn from past outbreak?

Date
8 Apr 2020
Time
13:00 - 14:00, GMT+1 – BST

The READY Initiative, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), the Centre for Humanitarian Health at Johns Hopkins University and the Centre of Education and Research in Humanitarian Action are hosting a weekly webinar series on COVID-19 and humanitarian settings. The webinars will take place on Wednesdays from 13.00 - 14.00 (GMT+1).

Various lessons emerging from past global outbreaks of infectious disease will be discussed through multiple perspectives and disciplines, from severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in 2005, to H1N1 in 2009, to the recent Ebola outbreak in West Africa, each of which marked a milestone in the history of infectious diseases. We will synthesize what information has surfaced from these challenges to inform efforts to strengthen governance and response in today’s COVID pandemic.
