Join the READY Initiative, the Health in Humanitarian Crises Center at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the Geneva Centre for Education and Research in Humanitarian Action, and the Center for Humanitarian Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health for a weekly webinar series on COVID-19 and humanitarian settings.

The webinar will focus on community-level preventative behaviors for mitigating the spread of COVID-19 in crisis-affected settings. In particular, speakers will focus on handwashing promotion and physical distancing measures in these challenging settings. We will start with a global overview on why these behaviors can be challenging to promote in crisis-affected settings and provide some practical solutions. We will then hear two case studies which will share examples of current work and the challenges of implementing preventative programs in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Syria.
